Japanese Culture Club
Japanese Culture Club
Mission: In our activities, we are not only aiming to learn and experience Japanese culture, but also address issues of over tourism and “bad tourism” issues including disruptive behavior to local communities, disrespect to cultural norms, and lack of understanding of proper etiquette in travel destinations such as Japan as well as their contribution to serious societal problems in the country.
In order to tackle this issue, JCC is committed to the following activities:
1. To create a guide book and or social media accounts that discuss proper Japanese cultural norms and rules.
2. To hold workshops and events that focus on rules of engagement and appropriate behavior.
By means of these activities, we are going to organize circumstances that students can use to explore the way to behave as tourists in Japan by introducing knowledge about Japanese rules, deepening their understanding of Japanese culture and gaining an understanding of how to foster relationships between tourists and local communities.
We confidently believe this effort could be part of a future tourism ideal due to the enthusiastic nature of the JCC where there is a place to build connections with people who have an interest in traveling in Japan.
